Fresh Fish in Kiel

We found this great Fresh Fish restaurant on the third floor of the Sophienhof Shopping center -

Lots of interesting fish in the case....

A wonderful chef who brought our dishes to the table.

Kirsten ordered a white fish with lots of yummy greens.

Dad had Halibut.

And I got brave enough to try the pickled Herring. It wasn't bad at all!

Cafe in Probsteierhagen

This was the cafe we had our Kaffe and Kucken in on that great day. It was in Prosteierhagen and was located on the main road across from the church.

We arrived a round 5 pm. We were killing time to wait for the Burger Meister in Prasdorf to arrive home so we could go get our books.

The selection was getting thin.....however, it was delicious. Dad and I polished off the cake to the left.

Follow the coffee pots down the stairs to the cellar.

There were local crafts to purchase and it was really cool!

Bauernhof Cafe in Prasdorf

There is this little Cafe in Prasdorf that is open Wednesday thru Saturday from 3pm to 5pm. probably for Kaffe and Kucken. It looked wonderful and if you are there at that time be sure to try it out.

It is actually made from a converted "Bauernhof" - the traditional -Barn house of the region.

It was set for tea and looked quaint and wonderful.

It is owned by Wolf and Elke Klindt. We believe Wolf is a distant cousin! He is the gentleman who helped us locate the house and first showed us the book.

Dining at Schonberg Strand - Hotel Seeblick

Here is Dad standing on the beach with Hotel Seeblick in the background. We were directed here because the woman who owns the place grew up in Prasdorf and we could also have regional dishes...

This was the hottest day of our entire trip!

At the Hotel with the woman who owns the place. She recommended regional dishes....

Kirsten had a local whitefish cooked with bacon. The bacon flavor was subtle and wonderful.

Dad had roast beef with horseradish, potatoes and beer!

I had a white fish with boiled potatoes in this wonderful mustard sauce.

YUM!

750 Years in Prasdorf - The book

This is the cover - a very worn one - of the book that was shown to us when we first arrived. It is aChronicle of 750 years of Prasdorf history.

Here is the photo in the book that is of Grandpa's grandparents - Claus Sump and wife.

The house and property were inherited by either the youngest son or oldest daughter. I believe grandpa's father Edward was not the youngest and did not have inheritance rights.

This is a drawing and documentation of the Bauerhof grandpa's family lived in and I assume he was born in......

This is the Bergermeister and his family. Their son was wearing a nike Tee shirt that had OREGON written on it! Imagine our surprise.

This is the road we turned left onto in Probsteierhagen to get to Prasdorf.

There was a sign at the intersection of the main road pointing towards Prasdorf.

This is the sign - you know you are there!

At this intersection you can go left or right. It is a ring road. left might be faster.

This is the rock commemorating Prasdorf. It is right across from the house.

See the people standing in the Background? They are on the path to the school and BurgerMeister's house.

Here is the Sump property as it looks today. The small brick building is a garage now.
